1994 San Miguel Beermen season
The 1994 San Miguel Beermen season was the 20th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Championship
- San Miguel Beer won the All-Filipino Cup tournament, the beermen defeated defending champion Coney Island stars in six games, the two teams battle for the All-Filipino title supremacy for the third straight year. San Miguel won its 11th title and the first back-to-back champions of the 1990s since the same beermen won the Grandslam in 1989. see: 1994 PBA All-Filipino Cup Finals.
Trades (Occurrences)
- San Miguel forward Ferdinand "Bong" Ravena was traded to Purefoods for center Kevin Ramas.
- Samboy Lim was injured during the Eliminations of the All-Filipino Cup, and sit out for the rest of the season.
- San Miguel Beer forfeited the third place trophy to Swift Mighty Meaties in the Commissioners Cup, after the first two games of the best-of-five series, and carry the colors of the National team instead for the remaining games, in preparation for the upcoming Hiroshima Asian Games in October, where the beermen earned the right to represent the country after winning the All-Filipino Crown, the team began playing with amateur cagers also chosen as RP team members such as Marlou Aquino, Dennis Espino, Kenneth Duremdes, Jeffrey Cariaso, EJ Feihl and Bryant Punzalan.
Key Dates
- March 12: San Miguel rout Coney Island, 108-88 in Cabanatuan City, for their 2nd win in a row, off to a 2-0 start in the All-Filipino tourney.
- May 10: the beermen clinch the first finals berth, ousting Alaska Milk, 81-68, for their 12th win against six losses, Coney Island, which also finished with a 12-6 card, battle Swift for the other finals berth.
